How to mail a PDF to someone in an Oklahoma prison
Personal letters, cards, drawings, and photos go to ODOC’s Securus Digital Mail Center in Dallas, where they are scanned for the inmate’s tablet or kiosk. Originals are not delivered to the facility.
Covers Oklahoma Department of Corrections (ODOC) state-run prisons. Red Rock Correctional Center (RRCC) is excluded from digital mail — send to that facility directly. County jails and federal facilities in Oklahoma have separate rules.

Send elsewhere — not the Dallas digital center
- Red Rock Correctional Center (RRCC) → Red Rock Correctional Center (facility address)
Digital mail does not cover RRCC. Mail correspondence to the facility. ViaPath messaging is available for RRCC.
- Legal mail → Inmate’s facility
Legal and privileged mail (medical/financial) must not go to Dallas. It is opened at the facility under ODOC legal-mail rules.
- Documents requiring inmate signature → Inmate’s facility
Forms that need a signature or notarization are not processed through the digital mail center.
- Business correspondence → Inmate’s facility
Mail from organizations, businesses, or agencies goes to the facility — not Dallas.
- Books, magazines, newspapers → Inmate’s facility (publisher or verifiable vendor only)
Publications must come directly from the publisher or a verifiable vendor per OP-030117. Do not send clippings — scan and print on 8½″ × 11″ paper inside a Dallas mailing instead.
- Packages → Inmate’s facility
Packages sent to Dallas are returned to sender.
- Trust fund deposits (authorized exceptions) → ODOC Offender Banking — PO Box 11400, Oklahoma City, OK 73136-0400
Inheritance, royalties, government/tribal payments, and other authorized funds per OP-120230. Routine family deposits normally go through JPay — do not enclose cash or personal checks with correspondence.
Format & content rules
- Scanable at Dallas: written correspondence, greeting cards, drawings, and photos. Printed PDF letter pages fit the “written correspondence” category.
- Size: items smaller than 4″ × 6″ or larger than 8½″ × 14″ are not accepted. Very small items should be scanned and printed on 8½″ × 11″ paper before mailing.
- Not accepted for scanning: legal or privileged mail, newspaper/magazine clippings (print copies instead), Post-it notes, items with tape or adhesives, staples or paperclips, die-cut greeting cards, glitter/sparkles, or certified mail (returned to sender).
- Avoid felt-tip pens, markers, Sharpies, and wax/oil-based mediums (e.g. crayons) — they bleed through and scan poorly. If you must use them, write on one side only and avoid drawing on the back.
- Trim torn fringe (“chads”) from spiral-bound notebook paper before mailing to avoid scanner jams.
- Mail is scanned in color and delivered to the inmate’s Securus account at no charge. Digitized mail stays accessible for the entire incarceration.
- Inmates without tablet or kiosk access use a community tablet or receive free black-and-white printed copies. Paid physical copies are available from trust funds (25¢ B&W page, $1 color photo page).
- Include a self-addressed stamped envelope if you want originals returned after scanning; otherwise physical mail is disposed of after about 90 days.
- All incoming non-privileged mail is subject to inspection and may be rejected under OP-030117 (content, security, contraband). Do not enclose cash, personal checks, or money orders with a PDF mailing.
Document mailing checklist
- Confirm the person is in ODOC custody (not RRCC-only routing) and look up their ODOC number.
- Verify RRCC inmates are excluded — if at Red Rock, mail to the facility instead of Dallas.
- Print PDF pages on ordinary letter-size paper; avoid staples, tape, or glued items.
- Address to the Securus Digital Mail Center with full name + ODOC number, then mail as personal correspondence.
Send with PrisonPDF
- Upload a multi-page PDF or DOCX and we print and mail it for you.
- When you select Oklahoma, we use the Securus Digital Mail Center address for general correspondence.
- We do not review PDFs — ODOC or Securus may still reject mail that violates policy.
